Responses Summary

Responses Summary turns the answers to each question into an interactive report. Use it to compare distributions, inspect scale metrics, find a result that needs explanation, and progressively narrow the analysis without losing the original summary.

Open a form, select Results, and then select Responses Summary.

Read question-level results

Each question has a card suited to its answer type. Depending on the question, you can review answer distributions, averages, median and percentile values, satisfaction rate, NPS, rankings, matrices, written responses, uploaded files, or media responses.

Some scale questions provide a measure selector. Examples include:

• Rating distribution or average rating
• CSAT response distribution, average score, or satisfaction rate
• NPS score distribution or NPS score
• Ranking distribution or average rank
• Number average, median, P90, or P95

Use the trend control to plot supported measures over hour, day, week, or month. Use Compare to to place the current period beside a previous period or another date range.

Filter one report view

The Summary tab is the starting report view. Its toolbar supports:

• Date and time range
• Property and question-answer filters
• Form version
• Trend unit
• Comparison range

Applied filters are shown as editable chips. Every report view has its own scope, so changing a filter in a drill-down view does not change Summary or another open view.

Drill into a question

Drill by groups one supported question by a property such as a segment, user trait, context value, source-tracking field, or another available dimension.

1. Find a supported question card and select Drill by.
2. Choose the property to group the question by.
3. Review the grouped chart or charts in the Drill by window. Scale questions can show multiple measures side by side.
4. Select a data point to continue drilling, cross-filter the report, or inspect matching responses.

The breadcrumb records each selected answer and grouping level. Select an earlier breadcrumb to move back, or use Change property to regroup the current step.

Drill by is available for chart-based questions such as scale, choice, ranking, matrix, nested selection, number, and date questions. Written answers, uploads, and other question types without a drillable chart do not show the control.

Cross-filter the results

Select or right-click a chart data point to open its actions:

• Cross-filter this view — Add the selected answer and dimensions to the current report view.
• Cross-filter in a new view — Open the selection as another report view while preserving the current one. When the selection is a segment, this opens that segment as its own filtered report.
• Drill by — Choose another property and continue the exploration in the Drill by window.

Before a cross-filter is applied, the condition editor opens so you can review, change, or remove the generated conditions.

Work with report-view tabs

A cross-filter opened in a new view creates a tab beside Summary. Each tab keeps its own date range, filters, version, and comparison. Child views retain the path from the view they were created from.

You can:

• Switch between Summary and drill-down views without rebuilding filters.
• Rename a view by double-clicking its tab.
• Add a custom title and description from the edit control.
• Close a view when the investigation is complete. Closing a parent also closes views created from it.

Select Show individual responses to inspect submissions matching the active report view. From a Drill by window, View responses also includes the selected drill path. Filters changed inside this inspection window do not alter the report view.

Save the analysis as a preset

Open Dashboard presets and select Save current as new preset when you want to revisit the analysis. A Responses Summary preset preserves:

• Date range, filters, answer filters, and form version
• Comparison range and trend unit
• Selected measures for question charts
• Drill-down report views, their filters, custom labels, and the active view
• Chart color theme

When an applied preset is changed, use Update preset to save the new state or restore the saved configuration to discard the changes.

Refresh, style, or print

• Use Refresh or automatic refresh to update incoming results.
• Change the chart color theme for screen and print output.
• Use Print this view to print only the active Summary or drill-down view.
